A fresh start is available to each and every one of us in each moment of each day. To do that though, it is important that you think about quitting these 3 things:

  1. Living in the past
  2. Fearing change
  3. Trying to please everyone

Thanks to everyone that went and downloaded my free ebook: One Breath: How to Tame Your Monkey Mind to Live in the Moment.

Between August 15th-19th, you can also get my ebook One Breath At A Time: Taming Your Monkey Mind To Live In The Moment FREE on Amazon.

The work/life balance is a myth. 60% of Americans in a poll indicated that they can not achieve a healthy, work/life balance. What if instead of a balance, we look at life as a blend? Sometimes we will have a little more life going on and sometimes we have a little more work going on but in the end, it will all wash out. Along with a discussion about the blend, I also offer up 5 practical strategies for working towards it.

"If it is not written down, it doesn't exist." Anais Nin

This week, I make the case for actually writing things down as opposed to slapping and flicking your fingers on a glass slab or keyboard.

What are the 5 ways that physically writing things down can do for you and what are the 3 strategies/tips that you can use to start writing things down.

This week I talk about the idea of "I Want To Be Like" as a tool when we are looking at successful individuals for examples and or inspiration. Who are they and more importantly, what about them specifically makes them someone that you want to be like. Lastly, what are the one or two things that you can do to get you going in terms of doing those things that you admire and want to be like.

Books Mentioned:

Autobiography of Malcom X: As Told To Alex Haley by Malcolm X

Daring Greatly  by Dr. Brene Brown

After engaging in my own digital detox, the podcast is back with a reflection on that detox as well as looking at the past. Do we define ourselves by the actions of our past or do we learn from them. Some essentials questions to ask are:

  1. What are some of our most important events/moments that have defined your life?
  2. How did those events/moments make you feel?
  3. What lessons did you learn from those events/moments?
  4. Do you still define yourself by those events and or moments?

Thanks for listening. If you would take a moment and head over to Itunes and leave a review that will help to spread the word. You can check out the website: . Feel free to send questions, comments, etc to

This week I provide some reflection on my epic F.A.I.L. (First Attempt In Learning) as I gave my first public speaking opportunity on Mindfulness and Meditation. Just because it didn't go all according to plan, doesn't mean that I didn't learn a ton by stepping into this new arena.

I am of the belief that we are all works in progress. We are never done learning, growing, exploring. What happens though when you feel as if you can't go on? What happens when you feel there is no other choice than to take your life?

This week I talk about a disturbing article that cites that the U.S. Suicide rate has surged to a 30 year high. If you feel like you are at that point or know someone who might be, then here are two ways to reach out:

Crisis Text Line: Text "HELP" to 741-741  or Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1 (800) 273 8255

You have survived 100% of your toughest days so far. Keep moving forward.

There is immense power in our words. Not only in the words that we say to others, but perhaps more importantly what we say to ourselves. What happens to us when we say IF ONLY. What instead if we say I WILL?

Writing your eulogy can be one of the most powerful exercises that you can engage in, but it takes your bravery, your honesty, and your truth. Writing your eulogy can help you narrow your life down to things that really matter and serves as a checkpoint so far because tomorrow isn't guaranteed.

Building on last week's discussion about Chinese Bamboo Trees, this week we dive into starting the process of building up your foundation by starting out with I AM ...statements.

The power of chinese bamboo trees is that for years despite watering, fertilizing, and care, shows no growth. After years, and seemingly overnight, the tree sprouts 80 feet in a matter of weeks.

Like our lives, it is hard to just "push play, and walk away" thinking that when we come back that change, growth will be instant. In order to grow roots that will enable you to stand tall and shine, it takes time. There is no better time to start than now.
